We collect your email when you join the launch list, and your name, email, phone number and hotel when you book a tour. We use this only to run your booking and to send you the updates you asked for. We do not sell or share your data with anyone except the services that make the site work: our payment provider (Stripe), our form provider and our email provider.
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. You can ask us to show or delete your data at any time via hello@localzanzibartours.com. This site sets no advertising cookies.
Your booking is confirmed once the 20% deposit is paid. The remaining 80% is paid by you directly to your guide on the day of the tour, in cash (USD or TZS) or via M-Pesa.
Cancellation: deposits are refunded in full when you cancel more than 48 hours before the tour starts. Within 48 hours of the start, deposits are non-refundable. If a sea tour is cancelled by the captain for safety, you choose a new date or a full deposit refund.
Local Zanzibar Tours is the booking and marketing platform, operated from the Netherlands. The tours themselves are delivered by independent local guides in Tanzania, who carry their own licences and liability insurance. The platform connects you, it does not deliver the tours.
