The reef around Mnemba atoll is the best snorkelling on the island. Protected water, hundreds of fish species, visibility that feels unfair.

The day starts early because that is when the dolphins are calm. These are wild animals and we treat them that way: no chasing, no crowding, engines off when it matters. Most mornings they come to look at you. The sighting rate is around 85 percent.

After the dolphins you anchor at the reef and snorkel as long as the group wants. Fresh fruit on board for the ride back.

Are dolphin sightings guaranteed?
No, and be careful with anyone who says yes. They are wild animals. Around 85 percent of mornings they show. If they do not, the reef alone is worth the trip.
How early is the start?
Pickup is usually between 6:00 and 6:30. It hurts a little. The empty sea at sunrise makes up for it.
